NSDA Debate Timer operates entirely on your device. We do not require registration or personal account creation. The application does not request network access permissions, has no external servers, and does not collect or transmit any personally identifiable information.

2. App Permissions and Hardware Usage

The application only requests device permissions strictly necessary for timer functionality:

• Wake Lock (WAKE_LOCK): Allows the screen to stay illuminated during speeches and preparation periods so competitors and judges can view the timer uninterrupted.
• Vibrate (VIBRATE): Provides haptic alert cues when speeches or prep countdowns finish.

Neither permission is used to collect data or monitor user activity.

3. Third-Party Services

The application is distributed through Google Play and may rely on baseline Google Play Services for standard platform functionality (such as app installation, updates, and core Android runtime services). For information on how Google handles platform data, please refer to Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not use third-party analytics (e.g., Firebase Analytics), third-party crash reporting tools that collect identifiers, or any advertising networks.

4. Children’s Privacy

NSDA Debate Timer is designed for students, teachers, and judges. Because the app does not collect, transmit, or share any personal information whatsoever, it is fully compliant with the Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and GDPR regulations regarding minors.
